TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAM
DEFENSIVE DRIVING CLASSES
Section 5-6-1 of the Unified Code of Corrections (730 ILCS 5/5-6-1) provides that certain defendants charged with traffic offenses may only be eligible for a sentence of a supervision under sub-section (c) of section 5-6-1 upon completion of a traffic safety program approved by the Court under standards set by the Conference of Chief Circuit Judges.
The following programs have been approved by the Conference of Chief Circuit Judges and provided by the National Safety Council. Please check the web sites below for dates and times classes are available:

4-hour defensive driving course offered in the classroom in Mt. Vernon only, or
Online driver improvement course offered for completion on the internet.

4-hour defensive driving course offered in the classroom at the following locations:
Frontier Community College, Fairfield
Lincoln Trail College, Robinson
Olney Central College, Olney
Wabash Valley College, Mt. Carmel
